Extended-depth-of-focus (EDOF) meta-lenses use engineered metasurfaces to keep scenes sharp across a much larger depth range than traditional lenses. By extending focus without bulky mechanics, they enable compact, robust optical systems for machine vision, 3D sensing, and precision inspection in demanding industrial and embedded applications.
